COMPLETED PROJECT: "Binghamton Energy Center"
Binghamton Energy Center

In January 2008, Red Rock Power Partners alongside Standard General LP entered into an asset purchase agreement for the acquisition of Binghamton Energy Center, a 47 mw gas fired generating facility. This facility was acquired from Transalta Corporation, a Calgary based utility focused on the western Canada and western US gas and power markets. Red Rock received FERC and NY PSC approval summer 2008. On behalf of Standard Binghamton LLC Red Rock negotiated a three year toll with the Hess Corporation. Red Rock is providing oversight and asset management services for this facility.

COMPLETED PROJECT: "Dupont Louisville Boiler"
Dupont Louisville, Kentucky boiler

In November 2006, Red Rock Power Partners LLC advised The Thermal Corporation LLC an investment vehicle controlled by Nicholas Singer of New York, NY acquire the Quixx LLC's boiler in Louisville, Kentucky selling steam to Dupont.  The boiler island built in 1991 supplies up to 750,000 pounds per hour to Dupont fluorochemical manufacturing processes.  The primary products manufactured at this Dupont facility are fluorochemicals and high technology plastics. The boiler island will potentially be a component in a large future cogeneration facility should Dupont operations expand.

COMPLETED PROJECT: "CDECCA"

67 MW Capitol District Energy Center Cogeneration Associates ("CDECCA") Power Plant

Red Rock Power Partners is pleased to announce the acquisition of the 67 MW Capitol District Energy Center Cogeneration Associates ("CDECCA") Power Plant.  CDECCA is a natural gas fired combined cycle cogeneration plant located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut.  This power plant was owned by El Paso Merchant Energy ("El Paso").  

Red Rock Power Partners LLC entered into an exclusivity agreement with El Paso and subsequently partnered with Maxim Power Corp. of Calgary, Canada to finance the facility.  The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

CDECCA provides peaking power to the New England Power Market.  It also provides steam and chilled water to a major commercial customer and to the Hartford Capitol district heating network.

The prime mover is a General Electric Frame 6 B combustion turbine generator with a 22 MW Alsthom steam turbine generator.  Steam and chilled water are provided by centrifugal chillers and absorption chilling units driven by the wate exhaust gases from the combustion turbine generator.  The facility is dual fuel capable burning natural gas and No. 2 Fuel Oil as needed. 

Red Rock seeks to increase its portfolio of power generating assets with a view to acquire additional assets in the North East and California power markets in 2006. Buz Barclay of Torys LLC provided legal counsel for the acquisition.

Red Rock Power Partners is pleased to announce the acquisition of the 67 MW Pawtucket Power Associates combined cycle generating facility located in Pawtucket, Rhode, Island. This power plant owned by El Paso Merchant Energy North America in 2004 was sold to NAPG of Denver, Colorado in May, 2005. Red Rock Power Partners LLC entered into an exclusivity agreement with NAPG and subsequently partnered with Maxim Power Corp. of Calgary, Canada to finance the facility.

The Pawtucket Power Associates facility is a dual fuel fired facility powered by a General Electric Frame 6B with an ABB VAX steam turbine generator. An ammonia compression inlet chilling system provides additional power generating capacity for summer peaking operations. The facility is currently operated as a merchant power generating facility providing power to the NEPOOL market. The steam sale agreement and site lease agreement with Bunge Oils, a food processing facility that receives process steam from the Pawtucket generating facility were re-negotiated.
